“Brave” Director Leaves Pixar

“Brave” Director Leaves Pixar

August 8, 2012 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Brave co-director Brenda Chapman is leaving Pixar and headed for LucasFilm.

Chapman was the original director developing this summer’s animated hit but she was taken off the project during its development.  She was still given a co-directing credit on the film.

That move indicated to some that Chapman may have been on her way out at Pixar.   Now comes news that Chapman has gone over to LucasFilm and will begin working on an undisclosed project.

Chapman is a veteran of the animation industry, directing the Prince of Egypt and contributing to the stories for The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

No word yet on what the project Chapman will work on for LucasFilm.  The studio’s animation arm has produced the popular Clone Wars series and will develop another animated Star Wars show.  However, there’s no indication that Chapman will participate in either of those.
