USA Today Offers Look at New “Trek” Toys

USA Today Offers Look at New “Trek” Toys

January 22, 2009 By Michael Hickerson Leave a Comment

With the approach of J.J. Abrams’ new “Star Trek” reboot later this year, USA Today has a sneak peak at some of the tie-in toys that will be offered along with the film.

Playmates Toys will begin offering action figures, remote-controlled starships, board games and even a tie-in “Star Trek” Barbies in stores on April 19.   Action figures will include the classic trio of Kirk, Spock and McCoy as well as an older Spock and the film’s nemesis Nero.  The action figures will be available in a variety of sizes of 3.5-inch ($7), 6-inch ($9-$10) and 12-inch ($30) models.  Playsets for the figures will include the bridge of the Enterprise and the transporter room.

Also offered will be a new model of the Enterprise that will retail for around $30.

If you want to see more, check out the gallery at USA Today.
