Vinnie Jones is moving on from his breakthrough role of Juggernaut on “X-Men: The Last Stand” and can be seen in several new films including this new offering titled “The Bleeding.”
Co-starring fan favorites Michael Madsen and Armand Assante, “The Bleeding” revolves around an ex-Army Ranger in search of the people who murdered his parents only to discover a band of vampires taking shelter in a popular nightclub spot.
Besides Jones, Madsen and Assante, the rest of the supporting cast includes rapper DMX, William MacNamara and relative newcomers Rachelle Leah, Pittsburgh Slim and Kat Von D.
Shooting begins in April on location in North Carolina.
Jones has just completed shooting another horror flick titled “Bog Bodies,” a production coming out of Ireland, and will also be seen in the anticipated crime horror film “The Midnight Meat Train” with Bradley Cooper and Brooke Shields. “Meat Train” was adapted from the popular Clive Barker short story. It is the story of a New York photographer who hunts down a serial killer and ends up on the most terrifying ride of his life.

How was that his breakthrough role? He has been in many films prior to it, in starring and leading capacities and many supporting and minor roles on top of that.

Actually, Vinnie may have been a well known name in Britain, Australia and perhaps some places in Europe, but in the States he really didn’t break-out until his X-Men stint.
He has been in a lot of major films such as “Swordfish” with Travolta, “Snatch” or even Cage’s remake of “Gone In Sixty Seconds,” but never really out front like he has been able to do since landing that X-Men role. Now, the entire world is taking notice of Vinnie Jones as something more than background for supporting role material. He is now being seen as real leading man material, so in that regard, yes, X-Men was his breakout film.

I dunno Sam, he was pretty unforgettable as Maynard in Eurotrip. 🙂
Good on him though. He was one of the best parts of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels – and there’s a lot of love in that movie all around.
