Phantasmagoria – The Independent Film Festival

November 19, 2007 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

Phantasmagoria is an annual, juried film festival held on the campus of The University of Toledo. Most submitted works are of the Science-Fiction/Fantasy or Horror genres, though other works are considered as well. Each year features competition in two categories: a movie trailer competition, and a short feature competition.

Relatively new to the film festival circuit, Phantasmagoria was founded in 2007 by a race of extra-dimensional aliens. These aliens felt that Toledo, Ohio needed a film festival to call its own. So, they made contact with humans at the University of Toledo’s gaming club and used the group’s annual gaming convention, BASHCon, as a foundation for the Phantasmagoria Film Festival. It was a huge success. It annihilated expectations. With a death ray of results.

In 2008, the aliens (and Phantasmagoria) are coming back to the big BASHCon. Their goal? To strengthen their foothold in the film festival market, by allying themselves with zombies from the center of the Earth!

You too can experience the thrills and get the chills by attending and making this coming year’s BASHCon an extra-dimensional experience!

Phantasmagoria will be landing in Toledo on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Go HERE for full registration and film submission details.
