Syfy Renews Being Human

Syfy is ordering a second season of its new hit drama series Being Human, it was announced today by Mark Stern President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content, Universal Cable Productions.

Since the show’s January 17 launch, premiere episodes of Being Human have averaged 1.8 million viewers making it Syfy’s most successful winter season scripted series launch in 6 years. Also, with women comprising 53% of the total audience for premiere episodes, it is the channel’s most female-skewing scripted series ever.

Time Warner iPad App Crashes

Time Warner's new app for the Apple iPad proved to be so popular on its first day of release that it crashed.

The new app allows users to watch streaming content on their tablet computers, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Digital communications director Jeff Simmermon wrote on a blog for Time Warner that the app was the most downloaded app from iTunes Tuesday.

Netflix In Talks For Drama Series

As predicted a few weeks ago in our Voice Mail show, Netflix is moving forward to begin offering original content on its streaming service.

The content provider is currently in talks to add a remake of House of Cards to its line-up. The series would be a two-season, 26-episode remake of the original with director David Fincher and star Kevin Spacey.
