A “Star Trek: The Next Generation” era prop of Data’s head from the episode ‘Time’s Arrow’ is up for auction. This unique piece of Star Trek history is a collector’s dream.
The item is a hardened foam cast of Brent Spiner’s head. The head was sent to Art Asylum by Paramount for use as a cast mold to scan in order to create the digital template from which the Data action figures were created. The item was sent intact with prosthetics, however they were removed and the bust was painted silver to aid with the scanning process. The prosthetics were subsequently lost or discarded.
Eventually the head was presented to Tim Brazeal, founder of Save Enterprise and Trek United, while he was still President of Art Asylum’s collector’s club. The head has now been put up for auction on EBay.
