Director Matthew Miele talks about his documentary VINCENT PRICE: WHAT KEEPS US ALIVE, a loving and thorough look at the life and career of horror movie icon Vincent Price, ahead of the film’s world premiere October 2nd at Poe Fest International 2026 in Baltimore MD

He talks about the input from Vincent’s children and grandchildren, and connecting with actors and celebrities whose careers were influenced by Vincent Price’s work: Tim Burton, John Waters, Alice Cooper, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, Bill Hader and others all talk about what Vincent’s performances meant to them.

Matthew delves into Vincent’s approach to acting, his love of fine art, his family, and also talks about how his work with other documentaries for Turner Classic Movies and his love of horror led to this film, and more.

Poe Fest Movie Night: Vincent Price: What Keeps Us Alive World Premiere

VINCENT PRICE: WHAT KEEPS US ALIVE will debut on HBO Max on October 30. And we really need a physical media collection of whatever’s available from his lecture series, especially the ones on horror movies and the macabre.
