This week, Summer chats with director Marty Langford about Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s The Fantastic Four, his recently released documentary about the Marvel movie that was never intended to seen.
The documentary is a fascinating and touching look at the project that was only ever supposed to be a half-assed attempt to keep the rights to the property and the people who eagerly made the movie and believed that they were involved in a project that fans would love and that would hep boost their Hollywood careers.
Keep an eye out for the December DVD and Blu-ray release, which will be chock full of extras that should be just as entertaining as the documentary itself.
Next, Noah and Daren join Summer to talk about the documentary and how the movie being shelved connects with the rest of the history of Marvel Comics, and then we wander into talking about the current elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with Fox and the Fantastic Four. We digress, a lot.

This is included in Amazon Prime. I did not need the distraction but the pull to see what Corman did is like a black hole.

Now I have a better idea of what hole in the ground “Black Scorpion’ TV series is in. Played on old SciFi then gone. Easy rights reload and shove in a box. Sometimes hollywood makes me scream at the gods of fair play and hear static.
