Co-writers and co-directors Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta talk about making THE YETI because there weren’t enough yeti movies out there yet.
Bill talks about creating a movie set in the 1947 Alaskan Territories because there absolutely weren’t enough yeti movies out there to keep him entertained during Covid lockdown… and pestering Gene about it while he was busy making his own Covid documentary. They also talk about sticking to practical effects, especially with the costume and the stilts for the creature, and the copious use of fake blood everywhere possible.
There’s also a parallel story between the expedition and the monster, and the pain that can linger from being traumatized by the behavior they experienced from their parents.
And since the movie was filmed in Bufflao, they also shared their concerns at the time about the security of the set in the event of a Buffalo Bills playoff win.
THE YETI is in theaters and on digital April 10 from Well Go USA.
