Dr Emily Zarka, professor and host/creator of PBS Digital’s creature feature series MONSTRUM, stops by to share details of their next episode, a look at the history and the future of King Kong.

We discuss the new movies featuring King Kong’s mythos in the new Monsterverse, her research into the problematic history of King Kong in 1933 America, and where future King Kong stories might go.

We also chat about our favorite Titans (Emily loves Mothra, Summer loves Rodan), other Titan & kaiju stories that have yet to be told, the hopes that the long lost Mothra novella will also be translated into English someday (see the interview with Jeffrey Angles about the Godzilla novel translations), and more. And yes, we also talked about JAWS.

The new episode of Monstrum featuring King Kong (part 1 of 2!) will premiere on YouTube on April 9th.
