This week, composer/lyricist Rob Rokicki (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical) stops by to talk about his newest project, the graphic novel album Monstersongs.

Rob talks about how the concept for the mixed media project came about, and their upcoming performances at the National Alliance of Musical Theatre, and The Other Palace in London (November). The album & graphic novel are now available for purchase.

We also talk about the upcoming 2019 national tour of The Lightning Thief, which a lot of people have been waiting for the chance to see.

Monstersongs is a unique theatrical event that “roars with originality… a chillingly inventive musical experience.” (Tori Hartshorn, BroadwayWorld) Monstersongs puts audiences in a synthesized world of graphic novels, rock musicals and live performance. A portal into the psyches of often misunderstood creatures; Monstersongs flips the switch on the monster narrative, inviting audiences to explore the humanity that binds us all.
