The Avengers/Guardians Connection

The Avengers/Guardians Connection

April 13, 2014 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

The Avengers and the Guardians have a connection. At least that is the premise of Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Gunn stated , “We’re definitely connected to ‘Avengers 3’.”

Fans may remember that this connection was hinted at in previous Marvel films with The Tesseract which is composed of Infinity Stones, an artifact also connected to the Infinity Gauntlet that is closely associated with the Guardian’s villain Thanos, the murderer of the parents of Gamora and Nebula. These two siblings will be played by the busiest actress in Hollywood – Zoe Saldana (Star Trek) and Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) respectfully.

Rumor has it Thanos will appear prominently in the next Avengers film “Age of Ultron,” tying together the two franchises in the Marvel film Universe even closer.

Look for Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters beginning August 1, 2014.
