Noah and Daren also saw Avengers: Age of Ultron, and they are also feeling a little bit of the superhero burnout because they also feel this movie did not live up to the bar set by it’s predecessor.
They were confused by some of the story line choices, especially how & why Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch came to be part of the Avengers, why their father isn’t Magneto, and so much more.
They liked it, but didn’t love it, and when Marvel has lifted your expectations to love every movie they come out with, the disappointment weighs more heavily.

STOP! looking 4 PERFECTION (there’s NO such animal)

No one’s looking for perfect (the first Avengers movie was awesome without being perfect), but when Daredevil has more emotional impact, and Guardians and Daredevil both explain things better to viewers who haven’t been following the respective comics for 30 years, you’d expect the same from Avengers, especially from an accomplished storyteller like Joss Whedon.
That said, I’ve been reading some articles with interviews of Joss, where he explains much fighting with Marvel execs to keep some scenes in, and some he had to cut because of what they wanted… methinks too many of those changes may have muddled the story, and given us an okay movie when they had been promising a spectacular one for the past year.

Still wondering about what I saw. AKA test.

Try using the WordPress comments, not FB or Twitter or G+…. I know you can leave a star rating with that (others already have for other reviews)

I did . Instead of taking imac apart I spent some quality time in Whedon interviews and a couple of talking head opinions. Whedon verified my impression that the theater cut is a comprise with Disney marketing and a complete story.
That out I left the theater thinking I watched a “Blow Stuff Up” Act 1, Stuff, Act 2 edited out, “Blow Stuff Up”, End. Maybe it’s me – I never read comic books, have some sealed. There just seemed to be no soul in this movie.
He did a good job getting what the suits want — visuals to sell toys. He fought to get story and almost made it. I’m buying the DVD & Blu-ray.
Still thinking about the film so more later.

I saw an article that was title something like that, but couldn’t find it again when I went back to read it. Will have to look again for it.
I had always thought that Kevin Feige was being true to the story vision of the MCU. If he is now being overruled by Disney suits who don’t get it because of the vast amounts of money these movies are now making, I wonder if maybe we should probably plan on being sorely disappointed in whatever happens with Star Wars.
