Create a Stormtrooper That Looks Just Like You

Create a Stormtrooper That Looks Just Like You

May 13, 2013 By Michael Hickerson Leave a Comment

stormtrooperFor Disney’s in-park celebration of all things Star Wars this year, visitors can get a one of a kind collectible — your own head on top of a stormtroooper body.

For $100, you can immortalize yourself as a 7.5 inch stormtroooper figurine. The promotion runs at the Walt Disney World resort each weekend from May 17 to June 9 as part of the park’s annual celebration of “a galaxy far, far away.”

Created by Disney Research, the scanning process only requires about 10 minutes of exposure to a high-resolution single-shot 3D face scanner. From there, the image of your visage goes off to a 3D printer and the finished figurine arrives on your doorstep some 7-8 weeks later. There’s also a carbon-freeze option for those of you who want to be like Han Solo.  (Unfortunately, Princess Leia will not rescue you from the block of carbon-freeze.)

Reservations are required, so if you want to take part you’d better call 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324).
