Netflix, Facebook Join Forces

March 13, 2013 By Michael Hickerson Leave a Comment

The world’s large social media site is joining forces with one of the biggest forces in on-line content delivery to allow users to share what they’re watching with each other and the world.

Netflix announced yesterday that users can share their favorite TV shows and movies via Facebook.   The announcement came on Netflix’s official blog.

The new system will allow you to share with connected friends what you’re watching or have watched.  You can also see what your friends are watching as well.   The system will only allow users who have both Facebook and Netflix to connect and share streaming content according to the site.

Users can control how much or how little is shared.  “You can choose not to share a specific title by clicking the “Don’t Share This” button in the player. You can also visit your “Social Settings” in “Your Account” on Netflix.com to turn on additional sharing to Facebook or stop sharing altogether,” the site says.

Netflix included a video showing how the new system work, which we have included below.
