The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones had a huge opening for HBO Sunday evening. The second season opened to the highest ratings to date for the show with 3.9 million viewers tuning in for the first showing at 9 p.m.
Not yet factored in are those who tuned in to the encore showings later that evening and those shown throughout the week. HBO will also take into account viewers who time shift the show either via DVR, On Demand or HBO’s streaming service.
The previous high was 3 million viewers for last year’s season finale.
With the solid ratings, it’s expected that Thrones will get a third season renewal any day now from HBO.
I wonder if I was counted streaming it P2P?
