With the current season of Doctor Who in the book and a long hiatus before series seven debuts next fall, rumors are springing up that Matt Smith could be leaving.
Of course, this time there may be something more to it than the usual gossip by certain British tabloids. This time the fire is being fueled by Smith himself. Smith told VH1 recently he’d like to jump for the UK to Hollywood in his acting career.
“I’ve got another year of Doctor Who,” he said, “but then I’m certainly going to come and give it a shot, come and hang out in LA.”
Smith added he would like to follow in the steps of his friend and fellow actor Andrew Garfield.
Smith has stated that he would like to be part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the long-running series.
Another season, another set of rumours… 🙂
I expect he knows full well what happens when high profile actors say things like this. He is probably just positioning himself for contract negociations for the anniversary season.

He won’t play the doctor forever…whether it’s sooner or later eventually he will leave.
