With The Walking Dead proving a huge rating hit, other network are looking to create their own zombie television shows.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox and Sony Pictures Television are working to create a half-hour comedy series based on the movie Zombieland.
The project would be written by feature scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and produced through feature distributor Columbia’s sibling unit, Sony Pictures Television with an eye on putting the project into development for the 2012-13 broadcast season. The feature film grossed $75.6 million, with a sequel in the works for next year. A potential TV series would replace a big-screen follow-up.

Zombieland was ORIGINALLY developed as a television series. Either plans fell through or the writers went the easy route, because they basically took their script for a 90-minute pilot and worked it into a film screenplay.
