The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons now has bookend Emmys after his win at this year’s Emmy Award show on Fox. This is his second win of the golden statue.
Parsons won in the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category and was up against some stiff competition that included his fellow cast member Johnny Galecki who plays his roommate Leonard on the show. Parsons got most of the Academy votes again this year beating out Galecki and some really big guns that included Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, Matt Leblanc and Louis C.K.
The Big Bang Theory has become the little show that could thanks in great part to Parsons’ superb portrayal of the Sheldon Cooper character, however all his co-stars are able to hold their own against Parsons’ charisma and each have become an integral part of the show that would be less than stellar without anyone of them. Parsons was humble enough to admit that in his acceptance speech, paying special tribute to Galecki.
His opening remarks are the most memorable as he received his statue from presenter Charlie Sheen. While giving that shy Sheldon smile in Sheen’s direction he said in Sheldon staccato “This is so bizarre on many levels.”
