While many of us are unhappy about the long delay before the next Star Trek movie, actor Zachary Quinto isn’t one of them.
Quinto recently told the Associated Press he’s “happy” the next installment hasn’t been rushed into theaters.
“I think there was an implicit understanding that we would do it again, and that we would all be really excited when that time came, but that it probably wouldn’t be for [a while],” Quinto says. “You can’t go through something so sweeping and so powerful an experience and expect to do it again right away. Everybody wanted to let it settle and we all went off and did other stuff, and now we’re gearing up to go back to it, eventually, at some point.”
Quinto says the fact that it could be four years between installments could be a good thing for the franchise.
“I think there’s something really nice about that,” Quinto mused. “It gives people a chance to breathe, and it makes people miss it a little bit.”
