The upcoming season of Fringe will be about the consequences say producers Jeff Pinker and Joel Wyman.
Pinkner told The Hollywood Reporter that future episodes will see the show’s characters “dealing with the consequences” of their past actions.
“Season three was about Walter (John Noble) truly coming to terms with the consequences of the damage that he had done,” said the producer. “[The season finale was about] Peter (Joshua Jackson) recognizing that,” he says. Olivia (Anna Torv) was going to die in 2026 and he made the heroic choice to avert that outcome.”
“Now all of our characters, we find them in a place where we’re dealing with the consequences,” he added.
Wyman revealed that the sci-fi drama’s fourth run will introduce “a couple of newer themes”.
“We’re just taking you down the road a little further on the journey,” he said. “You’ll be able to see people from the past and you’ll be able to meet new people throughout the season.”

I’m glad the new season of Fringe is about consequences. I’m glad the new season is about ANYTHING! Can you please just give us the new season? Please? Now…ah come on…hurry up….

Okay make it interesting and don’t get too bogged down. I must confess that I was kind of lost when Olivia was talking in that strange voice. Then it was revealed (I must have missed the first revelation) that she was channeling Leonard Nimoy’s character. Crip pacing and discernable plot lines are great when we get them.
