It’s official. George R.R. Martin is done writing A Dance With Dragons.
The fifth (and highly anticipated) installment in A Song of Ice and Fire will hit stores this summer.
Martin posted a picture on his blog yesterday of a dead King Kong, saying “twas a beauty” and that he was “exhausted.”
His editor, Anne Groell, confirmed that Martin had handed over the final manuscript to her.
“It is true. Kong is dead. There were a few moments of George in a spare office yesterday, cleaning up the last bits and inserting a few new bits in longhand, while I typed the changes into the electronic files, but we are honestly and officially done. And there is MUCH rejoicing!” she wrote.
The book now begins the process of preparing it for publication. It hits shelves July 12.
