Fringe star Joshua Jackson says it’s time for the fans to rally behind the show before Fox pulls the plug.
“I’m a positive person in general, but we really need our Fringe fans to tune in and watch us on Fridays,” Jackson tells EW. “We did good when we first moved, but last week we did not have a good week, ratings wise. It is going to take the people that like the show to watch the show and start the campaign and show their support if they want to see us stick around for another season.”
And Jackson has a tease of what’s to come in the next few episodes. If you’re behind on the show and don’t want to know the developments revealed last week, turn back now…
“Apparently I’m gonna be a dad,” he says. “And it is like the most extreme long-distance relationship, which I am pretty good at as it turns out in real life. My baby mama is in another universe. I think he has to find out, but I don’t know exactly how we’re gonna work that out yet. I have not see the finale script yet or anything. The whole other universe thing and the machine and the war of the two worlds is obviously the end of this season. But you would think they can’t just let the baby thing fall away.”
Jackson also noted the show has gotten “very Romeo and Juliet-ish in” the last couple of weeks but says the show “will go back to some straight Fringeiness very soon.”
“We have been exploring our feelings a lot lately,” he says. “I feel sort of bad for fans of the relationship. The Peter-Olivia supporters have been taken for quite a ride. He wants to be with her, and in his mind it was her. But in her mind, he should have been able to tell the difference. But we get back to some cold hard out-there science stuff soon enough.”
It would be a travesty if Fringe were to be dropped. It is the best show on TV at this time. We, the fans, have to do whatever we can to keep this show on the air.
Fox is not immune to creating travesty. Can anyone say Firefly?
Time to ditch Hulu and watch on Fridays.
I love Fringe! I am either watching it or taping it if I am out and watching as soon as I get home. Then we watch it again. Fox needs to leave the good shows alone. Just look at what they did to Family Guy! Luckily they got smart and brought it back but it should have never been taken off in the first place. Don’t let them take Fringe!
Even if I do not watch it live I have it on just for the ratings.
I turn one of my TVs to FOX on Fridays, just to support… even if that supports shows I could care less about.. That’s all I can do because I have other responsibilities n Friday nights. I then watch later it later during the weekend on DVR.
I love the show, unfortunately, I can’t watch Fridays, so the show was killed for me in the move. I happen to catch it this week. I think until Idol dies, Fox will just be dead to me as they give that crap priority over shows which require more than 2 brain cells, move them around, and kill them. They really don’t have anything worth watching unless it gets move to the dead zone on friday’s. It might have more impact if everyone boycotts FOX for EVERYTHING except Fringe…. for a few weeks.
Fox killed Fringe, nothing will save it now. They moved it to Fridays to kill it. Just like all of their other shows on Friday.
Does anything we do really matter if we aren’t being monitored by Nielsen?
Nothing Fox does surprises me … I will surely miss Fringe and will start watching it every friday instead of catching up on Hulu
watch, tweet, search, post, plead, we must save fringe!
