Ferguson Devotes Entire Show to “Doctor Who”

November 17, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Late night talk show host Craig Ferguson is a big “Doctor Who” fan.

How big, you ask?

He devoted his entire “Late, Late Show” last night to the long-running series.

If you didn’t stay up for it, we’ve got clips from it. Included is his opening monologue and an interview with current Doctor Matt Smith.

One of the highlights of the interview was Smith’s statement that he’d like to stay as the Doctor through at least three seasons.

“I take it a year at a time. I’m going to do this year, and maybe next year as well. I would like to,” said Smith.

Smith went on to say that getting to film in the U.S. was a great experience and helped bolster his enthusiasm for the role.

“I think it broadens the scale of the show and makes it epic and vast,” he said. “[It’s] everything that Utah and Monument Valley is.”

Executive producer Piers Wenger recently suggested that the two episodes would be the show’s “love letter to the States”.

I know what you mean. I have it a little better than you, up at 4:30 A.M., way too late for me as well. Damn commuting, lol.

This was great. Ferguson is my favorite and everyone seemed to be having a good time which is a big difference between his show an everyone else. Wish they had Pond on too. Craig might have died of squee though.
