Emmy Nominations Announced

The nominees for the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Thursday morning with several genre series doing well.

“Lost” got a nod for best series in its final season as well as a best actor award for Matthew Fox. Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn will compete for best supporting actor (O’Quinn won two years ago and Emerson last year).

Also in the running for best drama is “True Blood.” The rest of the field includes “House,” “Breaking Bad,” “Mad Men,” “Dexter” and “The Good Wife.”

In the comedy category, “The Big Bang Theory” failed to score a nomination for best comedy, but actor Jim Parsons did get his second consecutive nod for his work as Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Many consider Parsons to be the front-runner for the award this year.
