“Eureka” and “Warehouse 13” Will Crossover

“Eureka” and “Warehouse 13” Will Crossover

May 20, 2010 By Michael Hickerson 5 Comments

SyFy’s two popular summer series, “Eureka” and “Warehouse 13” will do more than just share a network this summer. In August, the two shows will have a crossover event.

SyFy announced the news yesterday and says the episodes will air August 3 and 6. The event begins on the Tuesday episode of “Warehouse 13” and continues over to the Friday episode of “Eureka.”

Here’s the official SyFy press release with more details:

– Warehouse 13 and Eureka, Syfy’s top scripted series, are joining together for the first time ever for a pair of crossover episodes this summer, it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Development, Syfy, and Co-Head Original Content, Universal Cable Productions.

In the episodes, which are currently filming, Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston) of Eureka’s Global Dynamics is sent to Warehouse 13 to help update its aging computer system. This triggers a seemingly sentient computer virus that sends the Warehouse into lockdown and traps the team inside. The Warehouse 13 episode is entitled “13.1” and will air on Tuesday, August 3, at 9PM (ET/PT).

The Eureka episode entitled “Crossing Over,” will air on Friday, August 6, at 9PM (ET/PT). Warehouse 13’s Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti) pays a visit to Eureka, hoping to see some amazing technological wonders. She gets more than she bargained for when seemingly random objects begin appearing around town. Working with Sheriff Carter (Colin Ferguson) and Fargo, Claudia has to help solve the mystery before the strange anomalies have deadly consequences…particularly for newcomer Dr. Grant (James Callis).

Rene Auberjonois (Boston Legal and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) will guest star in the Warehouse 13 episode as former Warehouse agent Hugo Miller.

I’m not sure about this – the shows are different enough in tone that it might feel forced. Seems to me like its mainly just an attempt to get more viewers for each show.

I”m looking forward to this. I think just having one character in the others show will work. The will be able to work them in to the tone of each show. Of course, these are two of my favorite shows, so unless they do a horrible job, I’ll love it regardless. 🙂

This sounds like fun. I think Claudia and Fargo is a good combination for the crossover. Both are so curious about everything and apt to get mixed up in things they don’t quite understand.

I know I will be crucified but I hate the idea. As I have said before the evil object of the week does not work for me. This is just an upgraded Friday the 13th TV series version. I love Eureka as it is quirky, funny and entertaining. I watch WHS 13 and even enjoy it but if I miss it no big deal. I just cannot get excitied about it.

    Eureka??? WHS 13???

    . . . I seem to remember something . . . TV shows, maybe?

All I know is that while I have vague pleasant memories associated with those two names (or are they titles?), it has been so long that I am not likely to let them into my viewing rotation . . . if in fact TV shows is what they are.

Maybe if they promise me more than 6 shows before their next hiatus, and if they promise to be on each and every week, I might make the effort.

Based on past experience, I will likely end up listening to the guys (and occasional gal) wax poetic on the show as they gush about how fantastic these series are . . . and I’ll be content with that.

Oh, and I’ll laugh about them being called series . . . is there a word for sputtering-with-long-absences shows?
