It looks weird. Not bad weird. Weird the same way it was Weird when Tennant took over.

Only I hated Tennant when he took over, and I’ve already warmed up to Smith.

I have hopes… But what is with him using the gun at the end?

Less than a month away! Woohoo!

@Chris — Until I see otherwise, I’m going to assume that he’s using the gun on an inanimate object. Probably a light or a gas pipe or something that’s too high up to reach.

    What’s up with the gun?

Either way, there’s always a big ruckus when a new Doctor is introduced… then later he’s the greatest thing ever. I remember that bonfires when David Tennant was introduced.

So I’m optimistic about the new Doctor and will be watching intently.

Now… if they made the Doctor a woman…. ooph.

The Doctor has picked up a gun with the intention of using it before…see the fifth Doctor story “Resurrection of the Daleks.”

That said, I can still see how the clip is made to misdirect….

I am intrigued by the Matt Smith era–if only because I am curious to see how Moffat runs the show.

Looks Intriguing and hopeful. I agree he does not look that young in the clip as Steve M said in another piece on this site. Let’s hope for good things. I agree with KG though, lets have a Woman Doctor soon.

Michael: Hmm. Kinda glad I haven’t seen Resurrection of the Daleks yet. Kinda takes the oomph out of the scene in End of Time Pt. 2 when he takes the gun from Wilfred.

P.S. How much does it suck that not one Dalek story is available for Instant Play on NetFlix?

By the way, please people. Let go of the “he’s a kid” thing.
    I mean…TIME LORD. OK?
    He has no “age”.

For what it’s worth, the really annoying comment that he is too young has died down alot. I say, it was annoying because people made the comment without seeing any of Smith’s proformence. The more we see of Smith, the more this arguement against Smith has died down. Now, I hardly here anything.

I don’t know. I have a good feeling about Matt Smith.

@Arkle. Honestly you should watch Genesis of the Daleks first and then Resurrection of the Daleks next. It will help explain some things, esp. related to the Doctor’s decision to pick up said gun and consider using it on Davros.

Both stories are opening salvos in the Time War.

As for Netflix not having them available to view, I’m not shocked. Negotiating for the Daleks is a complex system thanks to the Terry Nation estate.

But put them in your queue. Trust me, they’re worth it.

Genesis already is actually, mainly because I’d heard from other fans that the commentary track w/ Elisabeth Sladen was hillarious. I’ll go ahead and put Resurrection in after it.

Cool to see this as its a different trailer to the 2 or 3 we’ve had in the UK. Some bits are the same (like the gun), but most of it is new to me.

Am looking forward to it. Have been through enough Doctors not to be too fased by a new one and from what I’ve seen of Smith I think he’ll do a good (and different) job.

Don’t know if you’ve had the ‘vortex’ trailer available in the states, but they’ve done that trailer in 3D at the cinema before the showing of Alice, and to have a Weeping Angel actually jump out the screen at you was neat!

Roll on the 3rd (not going to appologise for getting it earlier over here, we lose out on loads of good stuff the other way around! lol)
