If you ask director James Cameron, the bidding war over the “Terminator” franchise is a lot of sound a fury, signifying nothing.
Cameron says that he thinks the franchise has run its course.
“I have stepped so far away from the Terminator universe,” Cameron told MTV.
He added: “I know what you know. … I’m happy with that. … I made a decision a ways back to just let it have its life. … To me, … it’s run its course.”
As for whether or not he’d return to the franchise, Cameron said, “The soup’s kind of been pissed in a little bit by other filmmakers.”

Except it has no ending. I suppose you could assume that everything works out in the end (that John Connor and the rest of the resistance wins), but I’d still like to see how it all unfolds.

Quite. But not by the TV series. THAT is worth continuing.
