Remember last year when “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke said that he felt that his hit series should probably only run five seasons?
Well, it appears he may be changing his mind.
CW President Dawn Osterof tells Entertainment Weekly that Kripke is close to signing off on a sixth season of the supernatural drama.
“I think he’s in that state of mind,” Ostroff says. “I had lunch with Eric the other day, and he’s really excited about the show right now. I think he feels this season has been really satisfying for him. He’s certainly not running out of ideas by any stretch of the imagination.”
The stars of the show are under contract for a sixth season, so all it would take to get the show back is the CW signing Kripke. And with the series continuing to deliver solid ratings on Thursdays and showing no signs of creative letdown, a sixth season could be announced in the near future.
Of course, the CW is also considering a tenth season of “Smallville.”
You take the bad news with the good, I guess.
