Fans better enjoy “Smallville” while they can. It may be the only chance to see a live-action version of the Man of Steel on either the big or the small screen for the near future.
DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson tells MTV’s Splash Page that the newly formed division of Warner Brothers has no plans for a new Superman movie.
“We’ve obviously done a lot of great things behind the property in our history, and it’s a key part of the family, but we don’t have current plans behind Superman,” she said.

That’s right. Take your most popular character and DO NOTHING with him. Brilliant!
Alan Jope says
We don’t want to pay for the creator’s family for the rights to use the character.
Morgothik says
How about a full blown Smallville (fully Superman now) feature film?

DC is falling behind, they better do something. Films drive people to buy books, novels (graphic), and comics, plus TV spin-offs, etc.
The one thing DC has done right is via Cartoon series with Superman, Batman, and Justice League.
Marvel has tons of films planned of their characters: Avengers, Captain America, Nick Fury, Iron Man 2, Ant Man, Wolverine, Thor, Magneto, Deadpool and this is only through 2012.
Why isn’t DC doing more with anyone except Batman. Where is The Flash, Martian Manhunter, Superman, Justice League, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, etc.
The possibilities are endless. They should use all unknowns for most of these films.
