Contrary to what the article claims, these are not all 4GB drives. The Sidious/Palpatine drive is 8GB and runs about $90, while the R2-D2 drive is a mere 1GB and the “1 used and new” is $199.99! I loves me some Star Wars, but I’ll die in the Great Pit of Carkoon before I pay 200 bucks for a 1GB thumb drive.

I’ve kept an eye on those SW drives, very cool looking and a great little conversation piece but the price kills me

    Kris and Keith,
You should check the MIMOBOT website (www.mimoco.com) because all the current Star Wars Series MIMOBOT drives come in sizes ranging from 1GB to 8GB, starting at $39.95. You must have been shopping on Amazon.com or someplace else? And keep in mind, the drives are limited edition which is why the R2 you found is so expensive. Star Wars MIMOBOT Series 1, of which R2-D2 is a member, is sold out everywhere, so whoever is selling it is obviously charging a market premium because you can only get them on the secondary market. Mimoco is also offering about a 20% holiday promotion on all drives, so you can save some bucks right now too. May the force be with you!
