Lifetime Makes It Official – No Blood Ties on that Network….However!

May 22, 2008 By Sam Sloan 18 Comments

Lifetime began sending out emails yesterday confirming that “Blood Ties,” the fan fave vampire series, will NOT be returning to their network…Read full details at SaveBloodTies.org.

However, the news isn’t all bad!

The Variety.com Ad Campaign has announced that they have not only reached, but actually exceeded their goal for donations!

The purpose of the Variety.com Ad Campaign was to raise enough money to fund buying some online ads to help get some visibility for the show so that another U.S. network might pick it up.

We join all those involved who were able to contribute some of their hard earned cash towards this campaign.

To check out the details of how much was raised please visit this page on their website.

At least now it’s official, the fans finally have their closure from the whole sorry Lifetime mess and months of agonising.
And that in itself is positive!
The Variety Ad is something that all the fans are proud of, it not only highlights that the show is looking for a new home, but also demonstrates that the fans are not for giving up the show they love!

I truly hope that a network with a venue that more closely matches BT will pick it up… BT will bring with it both an established and a growing fan base – all of whom are extremely loyal!

Though not actually “good” news this at least finally allows for other networks to really start thinking about getting BT for themselves.
I’m also really happy that the ad campaign turned out that well and can hardly wait to see the banners up on variety!

I really hate the way lifetime did such a dirty underhanded thing to the BLood Ties fans, however, I always thought Scifi was a better network for the show anyway, I was kind of stunned when I found out it was gonna be on LT! When I saw the first ad on tv, I said to myself,” wow, scifi has new vampire series” and then heard them say LT! I was happy but confused. I love blood ties with a passion and will never let it go, and will never stop fighting to find a new home for it!

CBS pulled the same thing with Moonlight. Lifetime and CBS just don’t care about the viewing public.

Hey SCI FI, why don’t you pick up both shows, Blood Ties and Moonlight. You won’t believe the viewers who will tune in to your station!

Well, that just sucks!! Hope someone picks it up. It would be a same not to let these characters develop.

I can’t believe this! I simply LOVE that show and looked forward to seeing it every week! The new season of Army Wives just started, which prompted me to find out what was going on with Blood Ties. I am very disappointed.

I am so tired of television networks putting a show out there that I get involved in and then flushing it down the drain. I agree with Darlene (6/1/08) SciFi please pick up Blood Ties and Moonlight.

I feel so awful for being so late to the news. I have actually been watching Bloodties on Demand. I love the show and can’t beleive its not coming back. I also love Moonlight and read that news. I think the CW would be a great network to pick up Bloodties. It has the same types of shows already airing. Ex: Supernatural, Smallville. . . Bloodties would be an excellent addition. I am trying to check out Tanya’s books at my local library to stay in tune to Bloodties.

I want to know what everyone has against vampires!! Everytime a great show
debuts they can’t wait to flush it. Does anyone not hear our plea. Lost out on
Blade which rocked, Moonlight, and now Bloodties. With all the crap on TV
now, and also the Sci Fi Channel could use a little boost with one of the above!
Are we so outnumbered, these weren’t outlandish shows, they were actually intelligently written and should have appealed to a broader market. I still can’t believe that insipid Ghost Whisperer is on and Moonlight is not!!!!!!

OMG!!!! I am so late…..just found out that Bloodties isn’t coming back and I’m DEVASTATED!!!! That was one of my favorite shows. I agree with a few other ppl that have stated that LT doesn’t care about their fans at all. I mean they get you all caught up in these shows with great storylines and then just take them off the air with no CONSIDERATION to the fans. No Blade, No Moonlight and now no Blood Ties!!!! I’m so sick of it……SCI FI if you’re listening please bring back these great shows, your fanbase will be out of controll and we will be loyal to your network. LIFETIME SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKS!!!!!!!!!!!
