Carter Previews X-Files 2 Trailer

Carter Previews X-Files 2 Trailer

March 28, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

mulder-and-scully.jpgX-Philes, eager for any tidbit of news on the upcoming second feature film, were given a treat this week by series creator Chris Carter as part of the annual William S. Paley Television Festival. During a panel Wednesday evening, Carter along with producer Frank Spotnitz and series stars Nicolas Lea, Mitch Pileggi and Dean Haglund discussed the original nine year run of the show and offered hints of the upcoming film. Carter then went on to give fans an exclusive look at the new trailer for the supernatural drama.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, the preview was “rapid-fire” and offered some glimpses into the plot of the film, which has been kept tightly under wraps. However, the biggest reaction from the audience came when the preview showed a kiss between agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. The Times reports that this revelation met with an enthusiastic response from the audience gathered for the Paley event.

However, when asked Carter declined to address the specific nature of the Mulder/Scully relationship within the context of the film.

He did say that he wanted to make a movie that would honor the original spirit of the show and appeal to X-Philes while reaching out to new fans who might not have seen or remember the influential sci-fi drama.

“It’s a stand-alone movie, but it’s not negligent or insensitive to the fact that there is a history there, and there has been a passage of time with Mulder and Scully,” Carter said.

Carter also said that he is having trouble deciding on a titles for the film.

The second “X-Files” movie hits theaters on July 25th. The trailer should be released in theaters and on the Internet in the next several weeks.

As much as I want to credit David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson for their combined Magic creating Fox Mulder an Scully who brought so much talent and Life to the Brilliant Minds of “CHRIS CARTER” and THE “METEORIC AND SUPERB WRITERS TO studio thirteen’ If I had the needed capital (One million per episdode) I would try to write a screen play based upon the last episode depicting “Little Wiliam” and his extremely sad Mother lamenting “FOX’S departure I HAVE SEEN SO MANY LAME AND LACK LUSTER SERIES PICKED UP FOR NEW SEASONS. WHY DID CHRIS CARTER GIVE UP? THERE WAS SO MUCH MORE HE COULD HAVE DONE! I WILL BE EMAILING ANON,
