First it was LEGO Star Wars, now Warner Bros. has announced that their new plan, LEGO Batman: The Videogame, is in full development.
The VG is being created for the next-generation of console platforms as well as the PC and will be ready sometime in 2008. The creators also stated LEGO Batman will work well on some older generation platforms, but will rock on the newer sets.
“We’re sure our fans will be excited to know that we have the same fantastic team at Traveller’s Tales responsible for LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars II working on LEGO Batman,” said Tom Stone of Traveller’s Tales.
The game takes place after a massive exodus out of Arkham Asylum by the most nefarious villains from Batman’s Rogues Gallery. Batman and Robin are charged with the task of tracking down the escaped bad guys (and gals), and bringing them to justice. Players can utilize an extensive arsenal of classic Batman weaponry, fun gadgets, as well as building and then driving or piloting a whole lineup of vehicles familiar to fans of the comic and movie franchise.
