Classic “Trek” Now on iTunes

January 3, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 2 Comments

Apple iTunes is now making available the original classic Star Trek series with Captain James T. Kirk.

Currently 29 of the episodes are ready for downloading at $1.99 per episode. The first in the series begins with episode one “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” with William Shatner as Kirk for the very first time.

If you are a classic Trek fan and haven’t yet signed on to iTunes, now may be the time to get onboard and get all these great episodes downloaded onto your computer.

I hope that the new-and-improved original series shows up somewhere soon. I enjoyed the brighter colors and going back to the faded originals now showing on TV Land is tough.

Why would anyone download these at $1.99 a pop, unless they just wanted certain episodes. The DVD sets have come down in price significantly and you can have the whole series for as low as $138 online. As Barry mentioned, I was so set on buying them, but now I just want to wait to see what they do with the improved, remastered versions. I’d like DVD sets of those. In Itunes format, the improvement wouldn’t mean anything!
