The Fox network’s espionage thriller “24” led the field of Emmy Award series contenders in today’s Emmy nominee announcements with 12 nominations for America’s highest honors for television. The series also got the nod for nominated best drama.
Other nominees of interest to scifi/fantasy/horror fans are:
LOST with 9 nominations, Battlestar Galactica – 3, Alias – 2, How William Shatner Changed the World – 2, Masters of Horror – 2, Supernatural – 2, The Triangle Miniseries – 2 and Stephen King’s Desperation -2.

In animation The Simpsons, The Family Guy and South Park led the pack.
The 58th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by nighttime talk show host Conan O’Brien, live on NBC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on August 27.
