NBC’s “Heroes”: A First Glimpse

June 7, 2006 By Summer Brooks 4 Comments

Get a first look at the new NBC SF drama “Heroes,” on SciFi Pulse. “Heroes” is the story about ordinary people, faced with extraordinary circumstances who discover they possess incredible powers and abilities.

As a total eclipse casts it shadow across the globe, viewers follow a genetics professor in India whose father’s disappearance leads him to uncover a secret theory, there are people with super powers living among us.

A young dreamer can fly, a high school cheerleader is totally indestructible. A Las Vegas stripper learns that her mirror image has a secret. A prison inmate finds himself waking up outside of his cell. A gifted artist can paint the future. A cop can hear people’s thoughts, including the secrets of a captured terrorist. In Japan, a young man develops a way to stop time through the power of his will. These ordinary heroes will save the world.

“Heroes” is executive produced by creator/writer Tim Kring (“Crossing Jordan), Dennis Hammer (“Crossing Jordan”) and David Semel (“House”), who also directed the pilot. The drama is from NBC Universal Television Studio and is set for NBC’s new fall primetime schedule on Monday nights at 9PM ET/PT.

Sad thing is this program has been placed into a pretty tough timeslot and night. NBC should have kept their more established and successful show “Medium” in that slot instead of postponing it’s return until January, and placed “Heroes” in a less competitive slot to allow it to get a good chance for an audience. It does look pretty good. Hopefully NBC will not pull another “Surface” on us…..get us interested enough to start watching and then pull the plug.

Well, I’d like to have seen it, but it’s apparently not there anymore, just something about Southpark winning an award now 🙁

Go back often. It is a revolving video feed. Eventually it comes back around.

Just saw the 4 minute preview on the NBC website (the link is below if you haven’t seen it yet). Not bad. If the timeslot is right, it could have a chance. I’m looking forward to it this Fall.
