This week Stargate SG-1 reached a landmark only achieved by one other American scifi program in continuous production, that being “The X-Files.” The critcally acclaimed show celebrated the shooting of its 200th episode and the producers aptly titled it “200.” Once the 202nd episode is in the can, Stargate SG-1 will offically be the longest running scifi show in US television history, only surpassed in the world market by the nearly 4-decade long “Doctor Who” series that has run in one format or another longer than any other.
Present and accounted for was Richard Dean Anderson who will be returning in several episodes of both SG-1 and Atlantis in the new seasons of each show begining this summer in July. He will reprise his role of General Jack O’Neill.
Also on hand for the cutting of the cake were series regulars Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Claudia Black, Beau Bridges, Gary Jones and Michael Shanks along with all the rest of the cast and crew that have been a vital part of this franchise for the last 10 seasons.
