Gwen Stacy, a very important character in the life of Peter Parker is returning to complicate his life further in Spiderman 3.

Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village), the blazen-haired daughter of Hollywood icon Ron Howard, will portray Peter’s high school sweetheart and become part of a love triangle involving her, Peter and Mary Jane Watson.

Although Gwen was killed off in the comic book series, how she enters on the scene in this third installment of the movie franchise is tightly sealed from public scrutiny.

Spiderman 3 will star Tobey McGuire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Thomas Haden Church, Topher Grace and now, the welcome addition of Howard.

Look for it in theaters in 2007.
