“Manticore”

November 20, 2005 By S. K. Sloan 1 Comment

Two STAR TREK alumnus, Robert Beltran (STAR TREK: Voyager) and Chase Masterson (STAR TREK: Deep Space Nine) are teaming up in Sci-Fi Channel’s MANTICORE.

Half-Lion and Half-Dragon, the deadliest weapon of the ancient world is reborn and on the loose in modern-day Iraq.

Now, one squad of U.S. soldiers must risk their lives to stop the creature before it wipes out all mankind.

Please, oh please tell me Manticore is not another Mansquito. If it is just shoot me now.

Call me crazy, but my mythology studies told me that the manticore was very different from a half-lion, half-dragon critter. What I learned was that it had the tail of a scorpion on the body of a lion with the head of a man, though with three rows of very sharp teeth and a taste for human flesh. A little Googling shows that I’m not so far off:

Let’s hope SciFi does a decent job with this one.
