Syfy has picked up the U.S. broadcast rights to the third season of Continuum.
The cable outlet announced today that it will air the 13 episode season early in 2014.
The series has delivered solid ratings for the cable outlet since it moved to Friday nights for its second season.
It ranks as the No. 1 original cable drama in its Friday time slot among adults 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers. Factoring in seven-day DVR numbers, the series is averaging 728,000 viewers among the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo, 836,000 with the 25-54 set and 1.8 million total viewers — up 21 percent, 18 percent and 21 percent, respectively, from its freshman run.
The drama, from Shaw Communications, joins a Syfy slate that includes Ron Moore’s freshman work Helix, the second season of Defiance and the final six episodes ofWarehouse 13.
Syfy is currently mulling pilots and scripts — as well as a few miniseries — to complete its 2014 lineup.
