Where Are They Now? And What Are They Doing?

November 18, 2005 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

ETHAN PHILLIPS (Neelix – STAR TREK: Voyager)

Ethan Phillips has starred in nearly 50 big screen vehicles in his 2+ decade career as a multi-talented actor and voice-over performer, but he is most remembered for his role as the alien chef and morale officer aboard the Starship Voyager on its 7 year journey through the Delta Quadrant within the STAR TREK universe.

Most of Phillip’s work does not revolve around Sci-Fi, however. The greatest body of his thespian career deals with drama, comedy and animation voice-over. His wide range of talent was evident from roles as diverse as Bad Santa to the critically acclaimed Ragtime with the late and great James Cagney.

His TV appearances are just as varied with roles on Hart to Hart, The Twilight Zone, and his most recent portrayal of Gabe Labrador on the drama Las Vegas, starring James Caan.

His newest project is the new comedy film written and directed by Linda Voorhes (Raising Genius), entitled Out of Omaha. Also starring are Dave Foley (News Radio), Vickie Lewis (Rugrats – Miss Weemer), Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement), and Lea Thompson (Back to the Future). The story centers around a young woman and family who are trying to RV to California but just can’t seem to get ‘Out of Omaha.’
