Over one hundred episodes of the classic “Doctor Who” television series are missing from the BBC archives.
The BBC has plans to resurrect some of its missing classic Dr. Who television programs. However, only two elements of the programs have survived: the off-air sound mixes and “snap-shots” of the lost films.
The BBC will combine state-of-the-art MP3-CD with its BBC Audio to create a visual slide show of images over the enhanced original soundtrack.
The first episode to get this treatment is “The Power of the Daleks,” starring Patrick Troughton as the second Doctor to play the role.
MP3-CD’s can be played on any compatible player and the slide show can be viewed on a PC or MAC computer. It becomes available today, June 20th at most retailers and online at BBCshop. If you prefer direct mail service call: 0800 136 919. Customers outside the UK must use the proper international country pre-fix.
