William Shatner walked away last night with his second Emmy. He was given the award in the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” category for his performance as the ever-forgetful, loose-cannon lawyer Denny Crane on “Boston Legal.” Last year, Bill won the award for “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series” for the same role.
He did not win the award in a new category that has been panned as the “American Emmy Idol Award” for the singing of a television theme song. That one went to Donald Trump and Megan Mullaley (Will & Grace)for their rendition of the “Green Acres” them song.
The big Sci-Fi winner of the night was J.J. Abrams who won Emmys for “Outstanding Drama Series” and “Director of a Drama Series.” Both nods were for the highly successful ABC series “Lost.”
Congratulations to Bill and all last night’s winners.
