Monte Yazzie, program director for the International Horror and Scifi Film Festival and all around horror enthusiast, joins Summer to discuss “Bingo Hell” and “Black As Night”, the first two entries in the Welcome to the Blumhouse series for 2021.
If you are interested in more horror movies featuring elder protagonists, Monte recommends: The Brotherhood of Satan (1971), Ghost Story (1981), Home Bodies (1974), and of course Bubba Ho-Tep (2002).
Monte also has list for his New Orleans set films, recommendations to go along with “Black As Night”: Cat People (1982), J.D.’s Revenge (1976), Skeleton Key (2005), and Angel Heart (1987).
A word of caution: we do go on, because the temptation of talking about so much new suspense and horror on TV is hard to pass up!
