“Justice League”: An Action Feast, but a Fan’s Famine

“Justice League”: An Action Feast, but a Fan’s Famine

November 19, 2017 By Noah Richman and Daren Gulsvig Leave a Comment

Noah and Daren went into seeing Justice League with eager geek hearts and minds, and returned very disappointed. Is there a disconnect between the darker tone that Zack Snyder created and the lighter tone that Joss Whedon introduced when he was brought in to replace Zack mid-way through post-production? Were the wrong DC superheroes picked for this initial team, when a different lineup might have told a slightly different story?

The guys feel this one was geared more towards the action movie fan rather than the die-hard DC Superheroes fans, or fans of the old “Justice League” titles, or even the animated series. The appeal is there for one section of fans, but for older comics fans, maybe not quite as much fun.

Rating: 1.5 stars

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Cast: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher
Director: Zack Snyder
Screenplay: Joss Whedon, Chris Terrio
