This week, Summer talks with filmmaker Mark Netter about Nightmare Code, a compelling film about the collision of technology, networks, artificial intelligence and how increasing reliance on technology affects not only people but maybe even our ideas of a normal or typical way of life. What happens when living a life becomes redefined and even restricted by technology once people become entirely dependent on it?

We talk about how he decided to tell this story from the perspective of the machine, and the choice of showing as much as possible happening on multiple screens, and how that affected filming, editing and digital effects, and even the possibility of expanding the story into a series.

This conversation covers a lot of ground, so sit back and enjoy!

Check out S. F. Edward’s review of Nightmare Code, and if you’ve seen the movie, comment on it and leave your rating there, as well.
