DC’s “Suicide Squad” Adaptation Up Next for Warner Bros

DC’s “Suicide Squad” Adaptation Up Next for Warner Bros

September 19, 2014 By Summer Brooks Leave a Comment

One of the unnamed movies on Warner Bros’ upcoming slate of DC Comics adaptations has been revealed, and the first winner is “Suicide Squad”.

New Suicide Squad #1David Ayer is Warner’s top choice to direct the film, hinting at a dark, gritty tone from the accomplished director of cop dramas such as Training Day and End of Watch. Ayer’s latest project, Fury, a World War II drama starring Brad Pitt, is scheduled to hit theaters on October 17.

“Suicide Squad” focused on a team of super-villians who’ve been given a second chance to redeem themselves, but the mission they’re sent on is more than likely to end up killing them all. The most recent incarnation of “Suicide Squad” in the comics was part of DC’s New 52, and ended it’s run earlier this year with issue #30. The script for the adaptation was written by Justin Marks.

“Arrow” fans have already had a taste of the Suicide Squad, but there are no story details yet for the big screen version of the small screen super-villain team featuring Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger, Sean Maher as Shrapnel and Michael Rowe as Deadshot, so you are now free to begin arguing over wildly unfounded speculations as to whether or not any of those actors will bring their small screen portrayals to the feature film adaptation.
