“Shockwave, Darkside” Premieres in August

July 30, 2014 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

Shockwave, Darkside is a new 3D sci-fi film from writer/director Jay Weisman (Surveillances, 1000 Ways To Die) . Inspired by the storytelling of 1950’s classic science fiction writing Weisman puts a 21st Century twist to his tale.

Shockwave, Darkside follows five soldiers after they have been shot down behind enemy lines on the lunar surface. The war is being fought over the last vestiges of much needed frozen water discovered within the deep craters on the the dark side of the Moon. As their numbers dwindle and nerves fray, they make an amazing discovery about the moon that just might save their lives, but destroy the very cause that they are fighting for.

Wiseman says that he envisioned Shockwave “as kind of a call-back to the science fiction that I grew up with – sort of a modern-day interpretation of the character-centric morality tale like ‘The Twilight Zone’ and even some of the ‘Lost Patrol’ war movies from the 50’s.”

Shockwave, Darkside boasts an impressive cast that includes The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green, Mei Melancon (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Bill Sage (We Are What We Are).

The indie film will make its world premiere at next month’s London Fright Fest on August 22nd.
