With Dracula flying onto our screens later this year, NBC is looking to the horror genre for several other limited run projects.
The network is developing a couple of new miniseries, one based on Rosemary’s Baby and the other based on Stephen King’s novel The Tommyknockers.
Yes, that’s right – a couple of horror reboots.
Rosemary’s Baby will be developed as a four-hour miniseries following the story of a woman unknowingly carrying the Antichrist in her womb. It was a movie based on the novel that scared a generation.
The Tommyknockers, which is set in a small town affected by an alien artifact in the nearby woods, will be directed by Emmy winner Yves Simoneau. Frank Konigsberg and Larry Sanitsky are attached to executive produce.
King’s novel has been adapted before as an ABC mini-series in the 90’s.
